Full Description

The shared textbook. A Wonderpath Hearthstyle curriculum. Pre-order now.

Nothing exists alone.

That is the whole of it, and the whole of this quarter. Connections is the third theme in the Wonderpath spiral, and it follows the threads that link people to places, stories to each other, and the living past to the present we are standing in. Water and land. Color and imagination. Maps, memory, and the layered meaning a culture carries forward. This is a season of noticing how everything is tied to everything else, and of learning to see that way on purpose.

Connection is not only something we study here. It is something we practice.

Something new: this is Hearthstyle

Wonder and Transformation were each a single all-in-one book. Connections works differently, and this is the first time Wonderpath has done it.

Connections is built as one shared textbook plus a separate workbook for each learner's level. This listing is the textbook, the shared core. It carries the Archivist's story chapters, the three artists, and the throughline of the whole quarter. Every learner in your home reads the same beautiful book. Then each child works in the workbook pitched to where they are, sold separately by level.

Buy the textbook once. Add one workbook per child. That is the whole model.

For a family with one learner, it is a book and a workbook, same as before. For a family with three kids at three different levels, it means one shared textbook and three workbooks, no re-buying the core three times over. That is what Hearthstyle is for.

Three artists, three lenses of connection

The textbook moves through three lives, each a different way of being connected to the world.

Katsushika Hokusai, connection to place and nature. Water, land, movement, weather, and the rhythms of the natural world.

Mary Blair, connection through story and imagination. Color, emotion, shared stories, and the way art travels between people.

Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, connection to land, culture, and living history. Symbols, maps, layered meaning, and the relationship between the past and the present.

Together they teach a child how places shape people, how stories connect us, how culture carries memory, and how relationships make meaning. Connection becomes not only a theme, but a way of seeing.

Open-and-go, and genuinely supportive

The textbook opens with a letter to you, the grownup, and it means what it says. You do not need an art background. You do not need to prepare complicated materials. You show up with your child and follow the path of curiosity together. Each week offers a story chapter from the Archivist, a vocabulary focus, movement and sensory integration, art invitations, social studies, science, and ELA connections, gentle challenges for older or more advanced learners, and reflection moments that build awareness and belonging.

Then add your workbooks

Every learner reads this textbook. What changes is the workbook, sold separately and pitched to each child's level, Primary, Elementary, Middle School, or High School. The workbooks share these same three artists, with Middle School and High School reaching further into contemporary and modern art. Find the leveled workbooks in their own listing, and add one for each learner in your home.

The four movements

Woven through the whole curriculum are the four movements that run the length of Wonderpath, entry, evidence, uncertainty, and expression. Noticing before naming for the youngest, evaluating sources and building an argument for the oldest. The work meets a child where they are rather than where a grade level says they should be.

Who it's for

Secular homeschoolers, eclectic and worldschooling families, unit-study lovers, and multi-age households who want one shared story that every child can climb into at their own level. Built for learners from the youngest through high school, all following the same threads at once.

What we promise

Every fact sourced. Every culture treated with care. Honest about what scholars do not know. Globally inclusive, never whitewashed, secular throughout. Academic rigor carried in warm, human prose, the kind meant to be read aloud with a child leaning into your side. Curious, secular, and beautifully feral.
