Curiosity and Invention | Leonardo da Vinci Art Study Collection
Curiosity & Invention: A Leonardo da Vinci Visual Study
A collection of sixteen cards for looking slowly.
Curiosity & Invention is the first in a growing series of visual study card packs, this one built entirely around Leonardo da Vinci. Ten cards hold full color reproductions of ten works by Leonardo, paintings, drawings, and notebook pages, ranging from the Mona Lisa to his anatomical studies of the shoulder and arm. Each image includes information about the artwork and artist on the back, along with questions and prompts to sit with. Five cards form a simple guide for looking, no test at the end, no correct order, just an invitation to notice. One card has a list of references, suggested reading, and websites with QR codes for further looking.
Choose one artwork. Place it somewhere you'll see it often. Return to it tomorrow and see what looks different. Read the back when you're ready. Compare two cards. Talk about what feels strange, beautiful, or unfinished. Leonardo spent a lifetime doing exactly that, and this collection was built to practice the same habit.
Ten works, one artist, endless ways in.
Works researched and checked against museum collection records and scholarly publications.
Suited to any age or learning style. No art history background required, just curiosity.
