Primary Quarter 1

One semester of story-led, cross-curricular learning built around wonder, made for the youngest learners.
Primary | Ages 4-7

Anchor Artists

This semester follows three people who each turned looking closely into a way of life. Leonardo da Vinci filled notebooks with questions before he ever filled them with answers, and children meet him as the inventor who never stopped noticing. Alexander Calder built sculptures that move with the air in the room, showing that stillness isn't the only way art can hold a child's attention. Hildegard of Bingen heard color and saw sound, and her work invites children to trust senses that don't always follow the rules.

Themes Explored

Wonder starts with paying attention. Children practice noticing small things, asking questions without needing quick answers, and trusting their own curiosity as a legitimate way of learning. Each artist offers a different entry point into the same idea: the world rewards a slow look.

What's Inside

Weekly story chapters written as gentle read-alouds, paired with open-ended art invitations and nature-based reflection. Vocabulary building, printable Wonder Journal pages, and scavenger hunts round out the hands-on side. Grownup appendices include standards alignment, enrichment ideas, and booklists for families who want to go further.

Who This Is For

Built for Primary learners, ages four through seven. No prior experience needed. Works well for homeschool families, co-ops, and microschools, and sits alongside other Wonderpath Spine levels for households teaching more than one age at once.
